Smalltalk
Smalltalk was the very first Object Oriented programming
language. Originally developed in Xerox PARC, Smalltalk pioneered the ideas used
in modern window systems and modern programming languages. Even to this day the
Smalltalk language and the programming environment are far beyond anything
available in any other language. Smalltalk delivers platform independence,
automatic garbage collection, dynamic compilation (just in time compiling), a
powerful meta-programming environment, and a fully integrated development and
debugging environment.
